Last Saturday I had the opportunity to share my poetry at a combined book signing / poetry reading event. The event went smoothly, I sold some books and enjoyed a lively session where I told my story and read “A Personal Connection.” To a smaller than expected audience.
So the ego would say, there should have been a bigger crowd. This wasn’t worthy of being an event, it was little more than a gathering. But it felt real, we connected as a group in an open and respectful manner, questions inspiring dialogue. And when it ended, my wife and I celebrated with a meal and a drink at a local restaurant. A poetry party.
