The solar eclipse captivated the nation, mesmerizing us through protective lenses that presented the miracle in miniature.  Crowds gathered to witness the magnificence of the moon dance, no thought given to political divides.  In these moments, we are reminded of the smallness as well as the miracle of life.

The poem “Eclipse” is from “In Search of Something.”  Moving out of the Shadow collection and into the Flash collection, it embodies waking from the slumber of Nothingness.  Knowing itself through the awareness of something other than itself.

Creative continuum

Opposing gravity

Nuanced possibility

Relentless approach

Something to broach.

Pursuing expression

Ensuing reflection

Depression passing

Balance surpassing

Words to embody

Surfacing body.

Precisely aligned

Perfection defined

Arrival magnificent

Arising and significant

Nothingness quips

A total eclipse.
