I am afraid.

What if they need help?

I will harden my heart.

What if they steal from me?

I will lock my doors.

What if they attack me?

I will bar my windows.

What if they want to live here?

My government will build a wall.

What if they are good?

I will block these thoughts.

What if they can help?

I will isolate myself.  Alone I will be safe. 

Protected.  Imprisoned.

Who are they?  Who am I?

I want to live outside fear, building bridges.

I want to help.
